Now this is a VOTE I don't want a massive discussion, just say yes/no and then your time limit please, we all want to get this moving forward.

OK then - no time limit. They're as long as they need to be. Unless they're funny all through though it should reach a natural punchline.

No time limit

sketches in their very nature are short comic spats anyway and you don't want a load of short quick fire gags cos sometimes a sketch needs a bit more time. Look at sketches in Harry Enfields shows like the slobs, they were sometimes a tad longer, or the old gits.

If a sketch is too long it can be rejected at the voting stage

This thread will be closed next Thursday so anyone who's on the project, who hasn't voted, vote or you won't get your say.

Brevity is a difficult discipline so by voting for an finite time limit it should, hopefully, make the standard of sketch writing higher.

There shouldn't be a limit. A sketch should be about the content and if it needs longer then so be it. It shouldn't be compromised. We are not doing anything new here, so we have to learn from the many case studies of sketch shows that are out there and they all have varied sketch lengths. If people think its too long or short they won't vote for it.

Some people may call me a genius - I haven't met any though.
