Dear users,

I know this will come as a shock to most of you and I'm sorry about the lack of warning, however with a heavy heart it is now time to let you know that I've decided to close these comedy forums. They're taking up too much of my time and, as you'll hopefully appreciate, life has to come before virtual connections.

The forums and website will shut at 11:59am today, Tuesday April 1st 2008. I'd like to thank everyone for making these forums the hit they have been and hope you have enjoyed the last couple of years they have been open.

You've certainly made it a fun and entertaining place to hang out and it's obviously also been a great place to gauge how a new comedy is being received, and also test out sketches and sitcom ideas.

When these forums were first launched I remember Aaron and me wondering whether we'd ever see 100 posts. Thanks to your enthusiasm we've reached over 130,000 posts now - wow! I'd like to say thanks to you all for each and every post you've made (yes, even for the single smileys that you've clearly just been posting to boost your post count). I feel touched (in a good way) that you value this site enough to spend time on it.

Like I say though, all good things do have to come to an end... but admittedly it's a real shame the BSG is closing just as it was really getting going. I know you have all invested a lot of your time (and love) in this forum and I don't want to destroy this. As a result an archive of posts will remain here for a month... this is mainly so your employers can continue to read your drunken inner thoughts, sexual deviancies and what you've been up to when you should have been working.

I want to make the transition to a new site easy for you all, as a result I will be handing over all your usernames and passwords to Jake How who I'm sure will put them to good use by inserting them into his own website where I'm told you can chat about Waterloo Road, Birds of a Feather and similar television masterpieces without any fear of being banned.

I hope you'll check out my next online venture - I'm going to be moving on to creating the definitive website about the mating rituals of the lesser spotted thermonuclear xeon tree frogs of Gibraltar. They're fascinating and if my early research is anything to go by, they're funnier than Graham Norton now that he has sold out to the BBC.

Thanks again for being a member and all the best with the future!

I can only say I felt something like this would happen one of these days.

Thank you for all your efforts. My evenings will now be spent disappointedly on JH's site, or failing that making spaghetti freshly cut from local trees.

All the best for tomorrow and beyond.

It's a fair idea, as the government has just banned sitcoms.

Apparently the Indian Government is suing the BBC for It ain't Half Hot Mum, Mind Your Language, and the Kumars at 42, for being racist.

Gordon Brown had 24 hours to pay 300 billion pounds in damages, or face the withdrawal of every Indian restaurant in the UK.

Thanks to this fauxpas, he has also called for the removal of the BBCs charter. The Director General is believed to be the first man to be sentenced to beheading at the Tower in 200 years.

BBC Shepherd's Bush, is to be steam rollered. It is to be replaced by the Annie Leibowitz centre for Lesbian studies into the elimination of sarcasm.

The BBC will be replaced by the EBC (European Broadcasting Corporation), which will now broadvast one minute of news a day in 743 languages (Except English).

Both, they're really very, very angry about It ain't half hot Mum.

And that Norman Wisdom film where he goes to the UN, and all the Indians are cockneys covered in Bisto.

It's got to be an April Fools Day joke. Then at midday Mark jumps from behind the sofa and says "Aha!" Busted.
