The new Collings & Herrin Podcast is now ready for listening/downloading. I apologise in advance for its interminable length (51 minutes - we just couldn't stop and there was nobody there to stop us!) and the fact that it gets a bit rude towards the end. We have decided that our podcasts will now have a watershed, and the watershed for this one comes at 40 minutes. Cover all children's ears at that point.
The quality is still as good as the in-built mic on Richard's laptop, but personally, I think it's amazing that it comes out as clear and balanced as it does.
I'd be interested to know if you think it's any good. To be honest, all we're doing is trying to recreate the "live" banter we used to enjoy on my old 6 Music radio show, except without music. I don't listen to many comedy podcasts, so if you have any recommendations that might make ours better, I'd be interested to hear. (Sorry if this has been covered in another thread.)

Welcome to the forum Andy (is Andy ok?) Anyway Andy, I'll be listening to the podcast later after work.
As you may know you'll get a very honest opinion from people on this forum so don't worry about that.
Looking forward to beasting your podcast or praising your podcast

I've got a great idea! Maybe you could hold a sketch competition on BSG and the winning one gets performed on your show.

I just listened, I don't think it felt long at all.
It totally recreates the 6music banter. Whenever I listen to a show where the hosts have a great chemistry, I always wish they could get rid of all the pesky music interrupting their flow, so it's perfect for me.

I'll be honest, I hate Andy. I was called Andy when I was a teenager. (Not that you were to know.) It's kind of you to want to call me anything!

You're very kind too. It's very like doing the radio show in that it's done during the day, without alcoholic stimulation. (Richard's on the wagon anyway.)

And it seems both shows have been deemed good enough for upload on some of those cheeky file-sharing site thingumies!

I'll download this now.
Went to see Richard Herring the other day doing his new show - it's ace. I recommend it.
Comedy is the aces.

Shouldn't this be critique?

Getting listeners involved more is always a good way to improve the shows. The Danny Baker All Day Breakfast show podcasts were fantastic (too bad they had a crappy site Wippit hosting them and it was a pain in the arse to download so they ended up stopping them). But yeah, listener involvement is good.

Let's gloss over the suggestion of a sketch competition though...

I wonder if they are considering moving the podcasts to the Daily Express. Probably a more left wing journal than this site TBH

The Telegraph is probably more left-wing than much of this site.

I really like these new podcasts.
Long may they continue !!
Also, im happy with the length of the 2 podcasts weve had so far and would be happy for them to be an hour ish.
I hope Collings and Herring keep going for a very long time to come.

You're definitely old-school Tory if you still think of the Telegraph as the bastion of Conservatism! I think Rob B had it right. Express or the Mail. The Telegraph - jees, even I can read it without getting wound up!
