Is this the one like Weird Science, with that boy from Roseanne in it?

That "boy" doesn't seem to have aged a single bit, in the last 15 years. Anyone know how old he is?

Saw the pilot, think this may be a grower. Is it going to be like an American version of The IT Crowd?

I liked it but didn't think it was like the IT crowd really. Promising.

Must say I really liked this too. The condescending vein of humour is rarely seen especially in US sitcoms, and is quite refreshing.

I really enjoyed this show. I'm usually physically allergic to US sitcoms but this tickled me. Great characters.

I like it too - it works on two levels...

If you get a geeky joke they say, you can laugh at how clever it is

If you don't get a joke, you can laugh at the characters for being so geeky

My only concern is the Indian character - he's a bit one-dimensional and over stereotyped at present.

Yes. I think the 'foreign' bloke from that 70s Show spawned a hundred copies.

I have to say that I sampled this a few times when these originally aired here in the States during the autumn, and was kind of on the fence about what I thought of it. However, in anticipation of the new episodes finally returning post-strike next week, I sat down last week and went through the entire run of eight initial episodes. Maybe all comedies are like this, but when you watch a handful of episodes in a row, you start to pick up on character nuances and writing styles, and it seems funnier.

Now I'm looking forward to next week's new episode.

As for Koothrappali, he is featured prominently in the eighth episode -- the last one produced before the writers' strike -- and his character gets fleshed out a bit.

Can't wait! I hope this show gets a few seasons under its belt. I think it has great potential.

Has anyone else noticed that Leonard's sexual interest, Leslie (who he works with), is played by Sara Gilbert?

Leonard being David out of Roseanne.

Sara being Darlene out of Roseanne.

David and Darlene having been married.

Ah yes, of course! I always forget she was in Roseanne. I've never seen either of the others in anything else though.
