Does anyone have any thoughts on improvements which they think could be made to this 'ere message board? Extra features and/or functionality which you would like to see? Little bits and pieces which would make your life easier...? I do have quite a few changes planned, but I'm sure that there's other things I may not have thought of, and since you lovely lot are the ones who'll be using it, I can't think of anyone better to ask!

(Please note that whilst any and every suggestion will be considered, it may not always be possible, no matter how good an idea it is, to implement.)

Do feel free to PM me if you do not wish to post below, for whatever reason(s).

Thanks! :)

On other message boards they have that feature where you can click on a person's name and read all their previous posts.

If that was possible that'd be nice.

Can't think of anything else to be honest. :)

Hi Aaron,

It would be nice to have the number of guests and members online on more if not all pages and not just on the front page (which I tend to skip and go to Active Threads (it’s in my favourites))

So I know if I one of many or just on my lonesome

Barry

zooo - Good idea, I've noted it down.

Barry - Interesting thought. I'm not sure there's really anywhere convenient to put it on other pages, but will consider it further.

Aaron, maybe this is featured already but I can't figure it out ... if I'm involved in a forum, can I see if a new comment has been added that I haven't read without going to the main forum page..? Like the 'recent postings' thing on my own page but it could have a 'most recent post' column too maybe..? often i click into them and find no new post. it's not a huge cross to bear, but would be handy i think.

this is just off the top of my head but is it possible to have a search hingy, where a person can type in the name of a thread title and it skips to that, i click on to post on a topic and i can't find it sometimes, apart from that a brilliant forum and it is understandable why you have so many new members from all over the world

**check my profile for more material** This guy got arrested in the states for using a childs urinal in a public toilet, he said "i was practising my aim as my wife gets angry at me for missing the bowl at home" i believe it was a genuine mistake and he failed to notice the kid using the same urinal. Scott, Aaron can probably answer this better than me but anyway here goes... have you seen the little green icon things on the "active threads" page and within the thread lists? Clicking on them will take you to the last un-read post in each thread.

Alternatively you can get email alerts by ticking the "Subscribe to this Thread" box - appreciate that all the emails might get a bit annoying as a regular poster though.

If the little green icons thing isn't what you had in mind I'm sure we can look to add the functionality somewhere.

Lewis - check out the menu bar at the top of this page. There's a search option available next to the Active Threads link - I think that's what you're after.

Thx Mark. Is this available from my own page, where i go to when i click 'Logged in as Scott T'? that would be cool. What I'm getting at ultimately is - when I've got 10 mins or so - just quickly seeing if there's any update on anything i've been chatting about, so it would be handier to go to my own page to get the summary of what i'm involved in, then a little indicator if there's anything new. i'm probably being really thick, but i can't see any little green things ( i don't mean ANY little green things, i can of course see peas for example).

Ahhh I see - what you decribe is indeed impossible to obtain at the moment but would be useful I agree!

I didn't think anyone used that thread list on their own page! You see I only quickly added it as a space filler until we begin to properly use that page (eventually you'll be able to store wish lists and all kinds of things on there).

I'll see if I can get the green icons to appear there too then. Shouldn't be too difficult I hope.

I don't think I've ever tried to describe anything as ineffectively as that before - maybe that's why my scripts get rejected! Yeah, I use that list on my own page a lot, 'cos if I've been away from my computer all day the threads I'm involved in may have been surpassed by others, so it's a very handy device. The green things (that seems to be the accepted technical term now!) would be very welcome on there if at all possible.

Even I hadn't noticed that list of threads/posts on the 'Logged in as...' page. Haha. Anyway, interesting idea. I'm not going to say that it's impossible, but knowing how all the board stuff works, it won't just be a simple case of slotting in a tiny bit of code. Will have to consult with Mark about it later on.

Any other ideas, anyone?

I don't know if this is too late or whatever, but something I meant to say before is that the way new PMs are announced is possibly too discrete. I don't like obtrusive graphics and stuff, but I've nearly missed PMs in the past because they're quite low-key.

It would be perfect if all of the sit coms were availabe in format d1 for us across the pond..We read all you say about them and want the chance to see them too..Isn't the U.S. a big enough place to see format one in???Valentine

Lewisroberts..you would love what Hugh Hefner does with his "bunny's" when they retire, he cooks them and serves them to his guests at his club. Valentine
