Absolutetly. But the Human/Doctor Tennant was a bit the same wiping out the Daleks. Kinda. Eccleston bordered on "The Master" Screaming WHY DON'T YOU JUST DIE! to the Dalek. He wasn't warm and fuzzy but I think perfect for the time period to bring it back...If we;d had the dark storied that Tennant had with Ecclston like killing SPiderwoman or leaving the guys in Pompei to die (I know he went back) It would of been totally different, and I think Tennant is more approachable and definately less alien.

All said though. Eccleston was brilliant! my Fav doctor, and Empty child is a piece of Genius.

What ideas or suggestions do people for series 5? I have already mentioned before that The Time Lords should return in some form because it is a bit tiresome that the Daleks have returned in every series but not the Time Lords aside from the The Master.

The glorious return of the Kandyman! Just me? Well, the Silurians/Sea Devils could come back; or the Ice Warriors. Personally, I think more could be done with The Autons as well; they were sort of thrown away in the first episode as it was about the Doc and Rose; the alien threat was really background noise. I agree The Daleks should be rested, but I've a feeling perhaps the BBC think they have to be there each series; perhaps they could try something different with them; as with DALEK in series one? With The Moff in charge, I'm sure something unusual and new could be done with them.

Oh, and Ill add another 'big up' to the Eccleston was great brigade; he really was, and I wish he'd done a second series before leaving, never to speak of the show again!

From todays Sun;

Tattooed Amy Winehouse could be telly's next Dr Who, the shows creator say.
Producer Russell T Davies is hunting a candidate to replace David Tennant as the Time Lord star of the BBC sci-fi hit.
Actors James Nesbitt, Robert Carlyle and Jason Statham have all been touted as successors. But Davies said it could be argued the next Doctor should be a woman. And he said "Amy Winehouse would be a great Doctor."
Other females in the frame to take over the Tardis include Dame Judi Dench and former Clocking Off star Lesley Sharp.

Hope this is the usual Sun rubbish, otherwise it's a worry. Statham, Winehouse or Dench would be crazy (and not in a good way).

All shit suggestions.

Where did Statham's name come from though? Surely no-one can think he'd be any good. He's not the greatest actor by a long shot, plus (even if he was asked) I can't seeing turn down films for Dr Who.

Who is he anyway? I just get this in my head:

Bald, muscular, hard dude; talks gruffly; is in ropey films where he kicks people in the head. There is no way at all that he would ever be considered.

Thanks Nil and Matthew. Doubt I've ever seen him. Doesn't sound like a good fellow.

That scene, by the way, is imo the funniest scene in the entire history of funny scenes. I nearly died!
