S. Floozy: love your sig; it reminds me of a friend I haven't seen in years who was terminally into women pirates--she'd dress as Anne Bonney (sp?) for Halloween, ad obsessium.

You should call her to say Arrrr! *pirate* :P

Aaron: you're not wrong! I work in Los Angeles as an animation editor, and am still in one of those unemployed periods one hears so much about in modern America.

Oo, worked on anything we might know?

Re: "worked on anything we might know"--

Probably the highest-profile CV entry would be The Boondocks Series 1, although it was no fun to work on. McGruder, although his politics are good, is just unpleasant.

I was at WB at the tail end of the Spielberg years, and worked on Animaniacs, Pinky & the Brain, Freakazoid, and Batman. God, I miss Pinky and the Brain...

But truthfully, most of the shows've been your standard cartoon drek. It's the law of average, as T-Bone Burnett once said.

Which, by the way, is why you see me hanging out here. I got insanely tired of US programming...how many CSI's can one country stand? Why "24"? So, with Doctor Who as my initial guide, I've been exploring, and largely loving, UK TV. Although you lot are cursed with your shite, too--Big Brother (and the like) sucks, no matter the country--by and large, I'm astounded by how good it all is. And it's so nice to hear adult language in common currency...among the other areas where the US is more than slightly insane right now, merely whispering words stronger than "damn" is reason for National Outrage.

Anyway. Back to the Boosh! (Wonder if Vince'd pick me up a few things at Topshop? They've got cuuuuuute stuff!)

Adult language is, unfortunately, overused by some programmes. They seem to indulge themselves needlessly, just because they can. I don't think there's actually anything you can't say on British TV after the 9pm 'watershed'. Depending on the programme and channel, one may find "cunt" bleeped, but otherwise it's rather open I think.

Who did the voice for Pinky? I remember he had an English accent. I think he was the first character, in an American T.V. show, that I'd ever heard, speaking in an English accent, that wasn't Posh.

P&B were respectively Rob Paulsen and Maurice LaMarche, both of whom are still very much in demand. And they were always fun and funny at the WB Christmas parties, too. :)

Just got around to watching series three today. Not bad at all, actually pleasantly surprised.

Some of it is a little too off the wall for my sense of humour, but there's just about enough of a grounding in the real, sane world to keep me amused. It's not going to be one of my favourite sitcoms, but it's pretty good stuff on the whole. :)

Don't like Vince though.

Vince was mean to Howard in series 2 and 3.
He was much nicer in series 1, looked up to him a bit, and I like their dynamic better that way.

I love the base of the shop though!

I loved the first series for exactly that readon, the way that Vince looks up to Howard, and Howard kind of glorifies himself in it, then constantly shows himself up!

"Where were you at the time of the murder Reverend Green?" "I was in the library with Miss Scarlett...and a rope..."
"But he doesn't understand, Irwin *does* like him. He seldom looks at anyone else...Because nor do I. Our eyes meet looking at Dakin!"

I know! I love the little Vince dances! Like "He once punched a man so hard his legs became trombones!" :D
