I wouldn't classify the LWT series' as a remake. Nor a first series.
So the BBC's 1961 run.
I am watching Downfall. I recorded it off of the TV in like November or something, and it's been sat on my TopUp TV box until now.

Yes got the first series myself- it's ok- extremely good for its time and probably the first big sitcom of the 1960's. Downfall- a friend of mine lent it to me on DVD- haven't got down to watching it yet. I'm sure you can tell me if it's worth watching Mr Brown.

Yes, yes it is.
Pity that the first series was marketed as complete, but wasn't. I am under the impression that it may have been issued twice, both with artwork of varying incorrectness.

Some episodes in the opening series are no longer in the archives.

Just watching something else I recorded back in November - Rob Brydon on Dawn French's More Boys Who Do Comedy.
He said:
"I learnt far too late in life, that girls like confident men. I always thought that girls liked a rather bumbling Hugh Grant, sort of..."
Bugger. zooo wins.
