I like davidson - who could not? But he was too young - as is tennant. The Doctor isn't just another bloke - he should be like your dad but more/less cool (delete as applicable).

Well I grew up with Davison onwards, so to me the Doctor should be young.
 

I dunno Gandhi was pretty handy, all that weaving gave him wiry muscles.

Sadam was kinda old, and a whiskey, red meat diet sapped his energy.

I reckon Gandhi would have hung on tenaciously like an angry tom cat, and brought him down.
