The Cyberwoman one was some of the weakest television I've seen in a while. "Torchwood...above the police...beyond the United Nations... blah blah blah... don't even know that they've got a Cyberman in their basement!" Writing was awful. Idea awful. No dramatic tension. Cyberwoman fighting a pteredactyl is not genius it's desperation. It's episodes, possibly shows like this that will take British sci-fi back under again. I mean - come on, it was merely an excuse to use some very expensive cgi and prosthetics from the previous episodes of Doctor Who.

It's supposed to be silly. That's the beauty of it.
The writing isn't exactly The Sopranos, I agree. It's all over dramatic and over acted. But I like it.

I love the special effects-you have no idea how freaked I was by those fairy things last night! oh my gosh! even the mere mention of those Mara things too!
"Where were you at the time of the murder, Reverend Green?" "I was in the library with Miss Scarlett...and a rope..."

Well as said it is supposed to be silly. Silly yet entertaining! I liked it went Jack kissed another geezer. I came.
Not quite as much fun as the last series but enjoyable all the same.
Sorry... NOT!

Thought that was really good, a lot of last series was a bit shaky; but that was a strong opening episode. And Spike from Buffy was just cool, and he had a better outfit than Jack! Good fun stuff.
Tragically I was an only twin.

DISCLAIMER: I haven't seen tonight's episode so might be talking out of my arse. I'm still basing my views on the first half of last series, which was bloody awful.

True, but it really got a lot better come the second half; Id give it another try. The writers/creators have themselves admitted to not getting it right at first. Hopefully this year it will be more consistent.

I loved Spike's outfit!
The whole style of the show is just perfect. Cowboy music when they walked into the bar.
Oh gawd, it's just ace. I wish it was on every day!
