NGO was to me, a 45 minutes story condensed down to 30mins and that's why it would have been better if it were 45mins long. Also, that way, we would have gotten 15mins extra of NGO!

Got the DVD of series 1.

Great interview with Mack and Vine - really funny and informative. They're a great partnership.

3 commentaries too with Mack and the director - again, funny and a good listen with some nice background info. Shame Andrew Collins wasn't on them, and that not all the episodes were done.

It's just a shame all comedy DVD's pale in comparison with the Red Dwarf ones. I'd like to have seen some of the pilot stuff with Catherine Tate, and a few more interviews.

But worth getting for sure.

Well Andrew hinted that they would have the three living together on this very board. The premise is pretty much two flatmates 'Not Going Out' with each other because of another factor. Series one: Tim's ex, Series Two: Guy, and Tim moving in would be the next logical step. Especially as Tim is very popular.

It would be interesting to see Lee have his head turned by another lady for once and Lucy to get jealous. Tim could take on the role of the 'cleaner' character. You can see him wearing a pink apron now can't you? Or is just me?

Quite agree. But I wasn't told, or asked, as they were apparently done without much warning. (Also, I hadn't been at the studio recordings and was thus a bit out of the loop when it all came to pass. That's what happens when you slip back into anonymity! But I was working on another sitcom at the time, which I'll be able to write about when it's announced.) I was delighted to be able to do two episode commentaries with Simon Day for the Grass DVD, though, of which I remain immeasurably proud. Mainly because less people saw it, and it never got a second series, so it has become more precious.

 

Oo, a new sitcom! Will it be as much of a quick-fire gag-fest as NGO was/is?

I listened to this last week - it was quite fun. Some of it fell flat, but there were a couple of good characters that made me laugh. The non-PC guy was one.

I just listened to that today too. I liked the pregnant friend sketch, talking in her baby's voice. Funny.
 

Without making this into a big Andrew Collins song and dance - I heartily recommend his three part autobiography.

I read the first book on holiday in Tuscany, which is a good place to be reading.

Back to NGO - I hope the second series DVD has a few more extras and more people on the commentaries. That would be dead good.

Are you a sitcom Red Adair?

You seem to get drafted in - presumably, in part, due to your EastEnders training? - to get sitcoms in order and working.
