Check out 4laughs for a great new (Window of) Opportunity.

Who's entering this?

I'm just about to put the finishing touches to my first entry.

On Wednesday 31st December 1969 GMT at 7:00 PM GMT, David Chapman said:

I looked but not sure whether to. With just one winner for just a sketch it's a bit of a lottery.

On Wednesday 31st December 1969 GMT at 7:00 PM GMT, David Bussell said:

Did anyone have a punt at this?

I'd echo somebody else on this forum in saying this seems a very user-unfriendly site going, which puts me off applying for any of their comps.

I've managed to get 4 entries done, but not sent them off yet. Better do it tonight.

I used to read Loaded as a teenager and loved their irreverent comic strips, so I've enjoyed this comp.

On Wednesday 31st December 1969 GMT at 7:00 PM GMT, David Bussell said:

Yeah, I used to enjoy that Office Pest character when I were a young 'un.

You wrote four already? Were you a stickler for the brief?

On Wednesday 31st December 1969 GMT at 7:00 PM GMT, Winterlight said:

I've stickled quite well.

One of them is "Get Rich, get drunk, get loaded" rather than "Get drunk, get rich, get loaded", but that should be ok.

I used to like Newsagent Provocateur.

On Wednesday 31st December 1969 GMT at 7:00 PM GMT, David Bussell said:

Oh, I've not stickled to anywhere near that degree. I just went for the three elements and bunged them all in. It felt dirty, I don't mind telling you, but not as much as filming that Dorito ad is going to...

I think you'd be foolish to let the site's technical issues stop you entering. This competition's prize is a credit in Loaded. And, a likely contact at Loaded. Even if you're a sitcom writer, a producer will be more inclined to read your work if you have credits, whatever they are. You might have previous credits, but i can't see the harm in another! Hmmmm, maybe you're cunning plan is to put off the competition !?

Don't hold your breath, the website hasn't been updated since 13th March. Unfortunately, yet another setback with 4Laughs. :(

I see one of our own, Planet Giraffe, walked away with this. Well done, son!

Well done Mr.Giraffe!

There's a very good "posh tramp" cartoon in this month's Private Eye, where a woman is scolding the tramp and telling him not to waste her donation on booze and drugs, so he promises to spend it on "a rocket and parmesan salad".

NB I have just realised this could be construed as an accusation of plagiarism, it is no such thing. Comedy tramps are always funny, especially Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar. (Possibly not Charlie Chaplin though.)

On Wednesday 31st December 1969 GMT at 7:00 PM GMT, Nick Rivers said:

cheers men. i did 'conceive' camp tramp a long long time ago so private eye and M & W, possibly not Charlie, are the copy cats! anyway am well chuffed to have won. i got a phone call from C4 saying i could produce it myself so if you wanna slip on some gent's tweed and scrub down for the day give me a shout. access to suitably rubbish dog an advantage.......

On Wednesday 31st December 1969 GMT at 7:00 PM GMT, Griff said:

Brilliant - producing that sounds like a LOT of fun!

Well done again.

Hello Mr Giraffe we were in touch last Summer when I was scarily close to winning your animation comp! I just heard the good news and wanted to say a big fat well done.
