Are you yearning for more GW?

Is it just me or is there a possibility that those who were hooked by Mac and Guy's antics might just be suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms by now?

Are we just to be given the likely 'ten years after' single update as per 'This Life' (yes, I know it wasn't a sitcom)?

A real shame there seems to be no enthusiasm at C4 for more of this superb series.

I think C4 would have killed for more actually, but Victoria Pile refused. Could be wrong though. Anyway.

I dunno, I think they left it at the right point. Series one was the best by far IMO, so anything further risked really diluting the show.

I would have liked to have seen more episodes myself, but that's just me.

Certainly not!

I'm obsessed enough as it is about this programme - any more would only send me completely mad.

Fantastic though it was, enough was enough. I want my life back, please.

And Mogadon Mac and Gruesome Guy are certainly not the most interesting characters.

Also erm.... I've forgotten the character names, but Mark Heap and Oliver Chris.

Although Pile was indeed first to say it was time to end, Channel 4 were actually saying the same thing - although they liked the show, their view was that it wasn't bringing in a big enough audience for the amount of money they were throwing at it. Admittedly that was before they saw the DVD sales though.

As for me, I thought they ended it at the right time. I'd love to see a Statham and Boyce spin-off sitcom though!

Ditto that.

I met them all at signings. Lovely lot. Hopefully there'll be more along a similar strain as GW - and a Boyce/Statham show could definitely work!

And what's all this 'Mogadon' dealie? :S

I just saw something on ch4's site about series 3 being ready??
I've googled like crazy to find info on this but can't find anything.
I hope I saw right anyway, for me this is one of the best shows I've ever seen.

I loved it but you can have too much of a good thing. I think it finished right but maybe a spin-off would work.

I've got to be honest, although series 2 was still very funny and had some memorable comedy moments, I think I followed it more as a soap than a sitcom. I don't know what was missing in that series, but most people seem to agree that it wasn't a patch on the first in terms of how funny it was.
I think with surreal humour there is always a very fine line between a joke being hilarious and it leaving the viewers thinking 'wtf?'. Maybe S2 missed the mark a little too often in this respect?

I would like to see a spin-off of some sort, but then I'd really miss the characters that were left out. I could watch Statham and Boyce in that lecture room all day long though!

Hi. Thanks for joining. Good question! Last I heard from the publishers it was supposed to be out next month, but I notice Amazon have since cancelled their February listing which makes me think it has been delayed again :(

re Mogadon Mac.

Well, come on Aaron, he was rather a sanctimonious git and rather dull much of the time. And I always felt that there was a more sinister side to him, as though there was something he wanted to hide about himself - past drug/booze problem, perhaps? Always felt there was something that Holly could have blackmailed him about.

Do you think I need to get out more?

On Wednesday 31st December 1969 GMT at 7:00 PM GMT, Aaron said:

Fair enough. But what the hell is this 'Mogadon' thing? Am I missing some kind of non-London slang or something?

Oh good grief no - I always thought that mogadon was some sort of drug to sedate people. I always use the word to describe people who are really dull. Isn't mogadon that at all? Have I been getting it wrong all these years?

Indeed so.

I suppose it's common knowledge that the whole of GW is available on Virgin cable On Demand service..?

On Wednesday 31st December 1969 GMT at 7:00 PM GMT, Aaron said:

That does involve having a subscription to Virgin Media though.

TRUFAX! time now. Branson's realised what a mistake ntl was, and is trying to sell up and get out of it ASAP. Expect another rebranding within the next couple of years.
