I tell you what, I found choosing my favourite two comedies of the year near impossible!
Feel free to discuss the year here and, if you want, reveal what you voted for.
p.s. If you spot any comedies I've missed from the voting list PM me please!

Thanks David. Very keen!
As it happens you weren't first though (6th for the record), its been quietly featured on the homepage for the last 15 minutes you see.
Anyway, no idea how you've managed to make your selections so quickly - it took me hours of deliberation to narrow my favourite three down to two

Just voted. Very difficult, though, cos most people won't have seen enough of the really bad or offbeat stuff so I guess the more watched good and bad will sweep the boards. I ended up spending several minutes deciding not to vote in several categories.

I wouldn't worry too much. One woman thought she was pregnant, from a one night stand. She wasn't. The loser daughter didn't buy a ticket to Glastonbury so didn't get in. And another woman stood by the window stroking her pussy. Errmmm, that was about it.
Best actors etc - maybe next year. Can't really be arsed. How would we choose the nominees anyway?

Thanks. As Aaron says, the lack of other categories is more of a time issue than anything (I did consider it).
Next year we should have the luxuary of being able to power it off the central database so we'll be able to pull out all sorts of wacky categories (best hairdo in a comedy beginning with the letter 'M'). It'll definitely be much bigger next year!

I agree, I had to put Tate as my 2nd simply through lack of decent choice. Armstrong and Miller were the best, if only for the pilots.

I just voted. There are some tough decisions to make there. Mighty Boosh had to loose out so I could vote for Not Going Out and The IT Crowd. Picking between Extras and Green Wing for best special was difficult too. I have to admit to being disappointed with the choices for best sketch show this year! There hasn't really been a truly great sketch show since ahem, 'the sketch show' and 'big train' a few years ago.

Yes, I thought it would too. I think it must have been tactical voting - as was mentioned earlier in the thread some people deliberately didn't vote for digital comedies because they were unlikely to have been seen by as many people as the terrestrial comedies.

Well for me, I hadn't seen half the sketch shows listed, so whichever one I voted as "worst" (can't remember now!) was really only "worst out of about four". There probably were a lot of worse offenders in the list.

I think people got fed up with the repetition, but I too think the hatred is a little unfair. We had so many people slate A&S on here though.

I think it's partly due to the repetition as others have said but, at times, she does come across badly. When she fails to win awards, she should smile and accept it but instead she whines which won't endear her to anyone.

I think it is worth look at both award ceremonies to see which shows and performers have performed the best and worst over time.
* David Mitchell - By default, he has won the most awards, due the his special award dedicated just for him in 2006. He also won the 2006 award for Best Sketch Show (That Mitchell and Webb Look), Worst Comedy Quiz Show of 2006 (Best of the Worst) and Best Returning Sitcom (Peep Show). Five awards at least (possibly seven if you count the number of times he has appeared on QI).
* QI - Won the award for Best Panel Show both in 2006 and 2007, the only programme to retain an award.
* Green Wing - Won Best Returning Sitcom and BSG Readers' Award in 2006.
* The IT Crowd - Best New Sitcom of 2006 and BSG Readers' Award (Best) in 2007.
* Tittybangbang - Worst Sketch Show of 2006 and BSG Reader's Award (Worst) in 2007 - offically the worst comedy in the awards.
