Should avatars reflect your gender? Or is it alright for blokes to put a picture of a super hot girl???

I wish people did use an avatar of the same gender persuasion as them... I get mixed messages at the moment. For example my mind is telling me that the hot girl out of Heros is asking this question... when actually its some non-attractive man (no offence, but you're not my type ). I gotta remember that - if I start chatting you up, blame your avatar!
