I've got to be honest, although series 2 was still very funny and had some memorable comedy moments, I think I followed it more as a soap than a sitcom. I don't know what was missing in that series, but most people seem to agree that it wasn't a patch on the first in terms of how funny it was.
I think with surreal humour there is always a very fine line between a joke being hilarious and it leaving the viewers thinking 'wtf?'. Maybe S2 missed the mark a little too often in this respect?
I would like to see a spin-off of some sort, but then I'd really miss the characters that were left out. I could watch Statham and Boyce in that lecture room all day long though!
