I've realised why I don't like Noel Fielding - Simon Amstell summed it up perfectly on Buzzcocks last night. To quote him...
"It that how it works... you say funny words and it works does it - you throw out weird words - hippopotamus and juggling - anyone can do that! I've got facts based jokes! (high sarcastic voice Pair of scissors, made of glitter"
Being 'zany' and 'out there' isn't clever - anyone can do it if they want to.
(I now brace myself for the Boosh fans saying 'but its sooo much more than just being weird')

Exactly the same reason we have people posting in the Critique forum and not rolling around in piles of cash; they haven't been commissioned.

*WARNING* CRASS OPINION, AVOID IF YOU ARE A FAN. I RESPECT YOUR REACTION TO THE MIGHTY BOOSH. THIS IS MY PERSONAL VIEW AND I REALISE THAT COMEDY IS SUBJECTIVE. I ADMIT IT, I'M BEING BITTER. I'M ABOUT TO UNLOAD MY COMIC PREDJUDICE ACROSS THIS FORUM WITH LITTLE THOUGHT FOR THOSE THAT MIGHT BE OFFENDED. GOD, I'M A WANKER BUT I'M DESPERATELY SORRY. FORGIVE MEEEEEEEEE.....
Because they realise how dismal the Mighty Boosh is compared to Cook and Milligan?

AGAIN CRASS OPINION, PLEASE IGNORE.
I'm with Cinnamon and Mark and a few of the others here. Boosh is the equivalent of 30 minutes of BlackAdder with pants on his head, pencils up his nose, saying 'Wibble'.

To which noel i think replied with 'no - a motorcycle made of envy.'
which was the funniest line in the whole show.
The boosh is funny and reminds me at times of the Young Ones.
It's great to have a show that is just being fun and not trying to be clever. Give me this over Gervais based crap anyday.
Why must i lose to this idiot!

I agree with Mark! and I agree also that its so much more than that lol! I loved the "motorcycle made of envy" !
"Where were you at the time of the murder Reverend Green?" "I was in the library with Miss Scarlett...and a rope..."
"But he doesn't understand, Irwin *does* like him. He seldom looks at anyone else...Because nor do I. Our eyes meet looking at Dakin!"

Personally, I'd like any motorcycle I'm riding to be made of a physical substance. Such as metal.

As someone else said, Noel came back with a great 'zany' line that floored Amstell, who disolved into giggles. Its easy to put funny words together, but not, I think, easy to do it well.

Last night's episode was pretty much laugh-free also, Noel's brother is a terrible singer.
What's so funny about the line 'motorbike made from jealousy', anyway? I don't remember Amstell being 'floored' by a torrent of quickfire witticisms in Buzzcocks either.
