Yeah, but come on, that's only about a 3 or 4 second snippet when performed, 10 at very most. Take an average Boosh episode, and I reckon there'd be more than enough similar few seconds scattered around.

Surreal? Out of the ordinary? Father Ted fits that bill, so that's not quite true.

It's VERY easy to write that kind of guff. I've just proved it. That stupid trailer about the rubbish dissolving, it's quite frankly embarrassing and quite dull.

All Barratt does if offer curmudgeonly feed lines, for Fielding to say something like 'She had a face like a pause on a CD' - stuff that sounds like a comedic analogy but really is just meaningless twaddle.

Chris Morris is a genius at using unusual wording and ideas, the Boosh are just purveyors of RANDOM LOLZZZ whimsy that appeals to 17 year old media students.

And I CAN comment if I like - it's called a discussion.

I'm not 17, I'm not a student, The Mighty Boosh isn't the first sitcom I've ever watched, and Noel's pretty pink eyeshadow hasn't blinded me into 'thinking' it's funny when it isn't.

They don't just turn up on set, improvise a bit of crap and put it out there laughing at us fools who buy it. They do actually craft it.

You think it's shit, as is your right. But it is ridiculous to say that therefore everyone who likes it is an idiot, or wrong to find it funny. Sadly, yours isn't yet the last word in what is good comedy and what isn't.

And again, you haven't just proved anything with your little scene. As it was a) crap and b) nothing like any Boosh I've seen.

I'm not trying to offend, just offering a point across. In the same way I'd over-praise something I love.

The little parody bit I did made me laugh in terms of I could have imagined it being in the show.

That's how I see it. I don't believe it's a crafted show. Those jokes aren't crafted in anyway. Does Barrett have any good lines in it, or is he just the straight man?

By good lines, do you mean the punchlines?
I think a good set up is just as important.
But anyway, yes, he has a bit of both.

They've been working together for years. I think they have a great partnership. Nearly as good as Vic and Bob, to me.

And this stuff is crafted and worked on, of course it is. You dont like it, fair enough, but you do seem fairly damning about the fact that others could find it very enjoyable indeed.

What got on my nerves about what you said was not that you dont like the boosh, i mean why would I really care, its this sneery attitude that some people have that this kind of comedy is easy to do. And I dont think Father Ted is really a fair comparison, perhaps something like Vic and Bob is more on the right level, another duo who are often victims of this 'its something students could drivel in the form room' attitude.

Vic and Bob are geniuses, most will agree. But The Boosh, to me, seem derivative nonsense.

I do have an unnatural infuriation with The Mighty Boosh, in that whenever I tell someone that I don't like it they reply, "It's just too random for you!" Then again, that is in a secondary school and I realise that people of all ages, genders, sexualities and species love it. Mighty Boosh fans should try and get hold of Peter Cook's The Misty Mister Wisty, which is great surreal comedy.

I don't think I've heard of that. Though I do love Peter Cook.

I don't like Spike Milligan though. Which people often say I should.
