Either to shoot the writers or myself, I haven't decided yet.

Can anyone PLEASE explain any good parts to it? I guess the writers aren't really at fault, although trying to do another british Sci-Fi com after Red Dwarf was done so supurbly was really stupid.

Wouldn't know. Only seen three episodes. And only 'cause I can't be bothered to turn the TV off after Mock of the Week.

Seriously, does anyone think it's good? And, if so, can someone explain why?

Nick Frost is the best part it's not the worst thing in the world just not very good. Red Dwarf is Great but this is for the wee nippers who havent seen it (coming from a 19 year old lol)
 

I do watch it every week, so I must like it.

I've noticed that I don't actually laugh though. Just the odd smile - usually (well, exclusively) at a Nick Frost or Kevin Eldon line. They still have great delivery, regardless of the quality of the material.

We've had this discussion before. What fascinates me is people really seem to take against Hyperdrive. The only reason I can think of is that it's Science Fiction. I suspect that if it was a sitcom about firemen or the RSPCA it wouldn't attract nearly as much venom.
 

I quite like it and I don't know why.

It seems to be growing on me.

I love Sci-Fi. Love it. Hyperdrivel is the kind of show I should like but when the only redeemable part of the show is the two big names doesn't this justify the broadcasters' obsession with attaching star names to a show to guarantee success?

Treenifer - while you decide between shooting the writers or yourself, can you do me a favour and turn the gun on me?

Sorry, I have to agree with SlagA on this one... Sci-Fi comedies are the best as there's so many more opportunities for comedy so it's not that.

I guess I'm personally annoyed with the show because they're not using these extra avenues to their full effect.

No it's the fact that it's not funny, with hardly any jokes and those that are in it are crap. Kevin Eldon is the only redeemable thing in the show. Mostly it's just Simon Pegg's mate doing his sub-Gervais awkward style speaking. My opinion.

I agree. They have that giant fat budget for all those special effects, and the opportunity to do the whole sci-fi parody thingy, but I just keep thinking that maybe it would have been better if they started out doing a low budget sitcom.

And I can't be annoyed at it because it's sci-fi - I'm a giant Red Dwarf fan.

I have seen two episodes ... for me the scripts aren't funny and the production is dire...

I guess the writer(s) and producer must be "well in" ;-) ... only possible explanation...

One of them (Andy Riley) co wrote Bunny Suicides, which I think is funny as a chicken in a wetsuit (ie, very), which has a quote from the genius that is Richard Curtis.

Me thinks I see how they got on the air.
