I assume one can be taught other things as well. I think that would be an odd dancing lesson though.

It had no smiley. I realised the smiley was needed otherwise the humour wouldn't have been conveyed properly. The internet is a minefield when it comes to sarcasm/dry humour.

Ahh, ok. FWIW, I don't personally see the difference with or without, both come across in jest, but perhaps better to be safe!
