BBC Three have been showing both for a while, I think alternating between the two.
Anyway. I saw a teaser trailer thing yesterday on BBC Three for the new Family Guy series. 'Coming soon', I think. Don't remember any exact day/time being mentioned. So just keep an eye on the listings, basically.

Family Guy new series has already started on Sunday nights at 10pm. It kicked off last Sunday with the Blue Harvest special
Why am I always waiting on the actions of others?
Am I the only person who wants to get things done in life?

Just bought and watched the whole of season six on DVD. It's so funny, never thought I would ever say this about anything, but I think I like Family Guy more than The Simpsons.

I think American Dad is funny. I prefer it to Family Guy (though admittedly not seen much of that). The family dynamic is pretty much the same from what I can figure out: Dad, long-suffering wife, two kids and a talking pet (alien, in the case of the former).

I noticed that it had changed, having been an avid Family Guy watcher, it's quite refreshing to try something new.
Actually, really quite enjoying American Dad... it's really really funny. I love that the Dad is CIA, yet he's so stupid. Excellent!
Pull my finger...
"Every joke is a tiny revolution," thought George Orwell. "Whatever destroys dignity, and brings down the mighty from their seats, preferably with a bump, is funny."

All CIA are stupid. It's in the job description.
And Andrew, I know. Same position I was in a few years ago. It's just so refreshingly off-the-wall. I love the cutaways. There's a brilliant "British porn" one, I think in season four.

Hi clj7, welcome to the message board. As monkeybeard says, Family Guy hasn't gone, it's just moved to Sundays.
Blue Harvest was an amazing production job!
As it happens I actually like American Dad too. Some episodes are better that Family Guy IMHO, but overall I agree that Family Guy probably does win.

This season was pretty funny. I just watched the season finale. Some times I can't watch American Dad because its so over the top but overall it's a funny show.
As a side note Seth MacFarlane has recently signed a contract with Fox until 2012 and this contract will make him the best paid director/producer ever (even more than Abrams and his stupid LOST). While that's good news for MacFarlane's two shows it has also been revealed that he's been giving the green light for a 3rd show!!!
It will be called "The Cleveland Show" a spinoff of Family Guy about who? The black character Cleveland of course!
Here is a link to the story.

Cleveland always seemed like pretty much the weakest character to me, but I suppose there must be something good in the premise if they reckon he warrants his own show.

Hm. Nothing about it. Well, I hope it's much higher than $100 million, seeing as merchandising is included. Interesting about the fourth show though. Sounds live-action.

I have a good feeling that The Cleveland show is supposed to spoof the Jeffersons. Think about it for a second. Family guy is obviously a parody of All In the Family (I think the opening scene of the credits is evidence enough). I loved the Jeffersons when I was a kid and because I've seen the Jeffersons I think I see where he may take this cartoon. I think its a great idea and I look forward to it. Don't know if any of you have seen All in the Family or the Jeffersons across the pond but they are two shows that broke a lot of boundaries during its run.

I'm pretty sure they have been shown here, but also pretty sure I've not seen either. But I think I get what you mean anyway.

Don't you ever, EVER compare me to Family Guy, you hear me Kyle? Compare me to Family Guy again and so help me, I will kill you where you stand! Do you have any idea what it's like? Everywhere I go: "Hey Cartman you must like Family Guy, right?" "Hey, your sense of humour reminds me of Family Guy, Cartman!" I am nothing like Family Guy! When I make jokes they are inherent to a story! Deep situational and emotional jokes based on what is relevant and has a point, not just one random interchangeable joke after another!
