I would agree. I found her ignorance a bit annoying at first but she begins to grow on you....that...and she's hot.

I wouldn't have said she's ignorant. Just not super geeky like they are. Surely?

I've only watched a couple of these and so far its geeky glasses boy trying to pull the hot neighbour. Is there anything more to the other episodes?

There's lots more to it IMO, but if you think he's trying to 'pull' her, then it might not be worth going any further.

She is a bit of a bimbo, but in a well meaning way, so it's okay.

Bimbo is a better word to describe her then ignorant.

I would have thought "normal" is a better word to describe her! Remember how high the others raise the intellectual stakes in this show!

I don't think she is normal exactly. There's not just 'normal' and 'uber geek' to choose from!

I do think she errs on the side of bimbo. But only slightly. She ain't no Jessica Simpson.

Well I've only seen two random episodes so I wasn't making a detailed analysis.

Alright, well it's worth sticking with in my opinion. It's not as simplistic and clichéd as "geek tries to pull hot girl" though. Whilst that's obviously a bit of a fantasy for (some of) them, they're far too intimidated by Penny - and have little-to-no idea how to act around/with women in general - to so much as think that it could realistically happen.

Well the two episodes I've seen where the first one where she arrives and he admits falling for her and one where he asks her out for a date.

Also on the shows official website it says:
"Leonard sees in Penny a whole new universe of possibilities... including love."

So you can see where I got that impression. I'll give it another bash. :)

She was jealous when she thought he loved erm... Darlene. (Yeah, I can't remember her flipping name.)
